GLASS

CHRYSLER MUSEUM OF ART, NORFOLK, VA

This work underscores the importance of finding one's center and source of energy, and having the trust in one’s self to do so. Asking questions about trust in my own life initially prompted me to work with hot glass, and quickly turned into an exploration of how much hot glass I could work with at the bench. In this body work, I have made vessels that reference a plumb bob, a device to find vertical center. These suspended centered vessels are the end result of sourcing energy, trust, intuition, confidence and dedication, proving to myself that working with hot glass involves much more than pure strength.
